Detroit duo Floorplan, formed by techno pioneer Robert Hood and his daughter Lyric Hood, put their spin on Sophie Lloyd’s Classic anthem ‘Calling Out’ along with New York house legend Danny Krivit in this unmissable remix package. Sophie produced ‘Calling Out’ in a dreary January as an antidote to the pervading doom and gloom of the news, summoning the power of the most joy-filled sound of all, gospel. The track radiates all the live atmosphere of gospel worship in mid flow, with soul trio Dames Brown bringing the authenticity. Floorplan’s Revival Mix singles out the piano and organ riffs with Hood’s hometown influences always apparent. Their Club Mix follows, pushing the track into deeper dancefloor territory with its pumping bassline. Danny Krivit rounds off the package with his extended funk-inflicted edit featuring looped vocals and DJ-friendly breaks.
